He Has Risen!

He has Risen!!! He has Risen indeed!!

I’m going to keep this post brief.

While Jesus said He would rise on the third day many thought they could keep Him in the grave.

Matthew 27

62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day…

65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.”

66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.

But nothing could hold Jesus in death. He rose on the third day

Matthew 28

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen

Jesus rose on the third day. The day Jesus died, we provided Salvation through his death and shedding of blood. And that is the fourth S of Easter. Salvation.

I don’t think we give enough credit to the Easter Story. We dedicate a whole month to Jesus’ birth. But we didn’t gain salvation through His birth, we gained it through His death. Three days are not enough to dwell on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

We can have a personal relationship with God because Jesus died.  We should always keep it at the front of our minds when we think of our salvation. We are saved from death through the death of one Man. But, no tomb, stone, or works of man could keep Him from rising from the dead.

He has Risen!

I serve a risen Saviour, He’s in the world today

I know that He is living, whatever men may say

I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer

And just the time I need Him He’s always near

He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!

He walks with me and talks with me

Along life’s narrow way

He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!

You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives within my heart
